Pneumatic, Double Acting Angle & Inline Valves
The double-acting pneumatic actuation is most often used for valves with longer strokes (valves with larger port diameters). This is because using a spring-assist in either the open or closed direction would necessitate a long actuator to accommodate the spring, making the valve envelope size quite large. “Fail close” or “fail open” functionality can still be achieved via proper selection and plumbing of the pilot valves used.
